Gujarat: 12 HC Employees Test COVID Positive, HC To Be Shut From 12TH – 15TH September

CBDT to decide deadline for ITR by Jan 12: Gujarat High Court

The Gujarat High Court has notified that its earlier decision to start physical functioning of the court from September 14, 2020, has been altered and that physical courts will now commence only from September 16, 2020. The development comes after 12 employees of the Court were found to be infected with COVID-19.

A notification issued by the High Court states that the employees were found COVID-19 positive after the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) carried out antigen tests at the High Court premises.

In view of the same, the AMC is going to carry a thorough sanitsation process at the High Court, the Judicial Academy, Auditorium, Kayda Bhavan, bank, post office, etc., including inside the buildings of courtrooms, chambers, offices, record rooms, washrooms etc. on September 12.

Given that this sanitisation exercise would require 3 to 4 days, the High Court premises will be shut down from September 12-15, 2020.

During this period the judicial functioning (both virtual and physical) of the High Court will remain suspended. It will resume only on September 16.
