Bar council of India has allowed the Law Universities and Centre for Legal Studies to conduct physical examination as per the new circular with a condition to get NOC from the concerned State Government and SDMA (State Disaster Management Authority). It has allowed to permit the students who are unable or unwilling to attend such examinations to be averted till covid-19 pandemic and also to allow the students to re-appear in the examination after universities re-open if they are unable to clear the examinations.
Council also said that if universities are thinking about physical exams that will take effect from 02.11.2020 and if the such exams are held without any penal consequences and no student shall be prejudiced or affected and will get an opportunity to appear in the Exam again after physical reopening of the college/university as decided and stated in the Circular/Press Release of the Bar Council of India dated 27.05.2020 and 09.06.2020 respectively, which was further clarified by the BCI Resolution dated 05.10.2020.
The council also said that examinations of all semesters and classes of final year students can be conducted online if the universities are able to conduct and adequate infrastructure and facilities are available to them. It added that if such online examinations are conducted and any student is unable to attend or if appeared but unable to clear then such student will be allowed to re-appear after the end of this covid-19 pandemic.
Council also repeated that all those students who are affected by the pandemic and are promoted to next semester and are now unable to clear the online/offline examination conducted shall be allowed to clear their papers within one month of physical reopening of college without affecting their promotion.
