Plea to Cancel NEET-UG 2021 Dismissed by SC

On Monday, The Supreme Court had dismissed a petition that sought cancellation of the NEET-UG 2021 exam that was held on 12th September 2021 and to help conduct fresh, new exams for NEET-UG in the wake of the risings allegations that have been talked about with respect to the use of wrong practices and paper leak.

There have been multiple instances of impersonation wherein someone else has appeared for the exam on behalf of someone and some cases of paper leakage as well. However, this cannot be a reason to jeopardize the future of lakhs of students who had appeared for the exam is what the observation of the Supreme Court was when they dismissed the plea. The bench also criticized the petitioner for being very adventurous and filing the writ petition along with other warnings.

Due to all this, if even one meritorious candidate is denied admission, it will be unfair. It was added that the papers were leaked within 20 minutes of the examination starting and the answers were shared on WhatsApp.

The petitioner has also further said that NEET-2021 along with the admission process has become a lucrative and commercial business wherein the educational coaching centres are increasing involving themselves in cheating and unfair means in order to benefit some individuals by either helping impersonation or leaking the paper.
