Bill To Repeal 3 Farm Laws To Be Introduced In Parliament

The bill which sought to repeal the 3 farm laws was to be introduced during the winter session in the Lok Sabha of the Parliament to commence on 29th November. The legislative business which was published for Lok Sabha had revealed that the bill sought to repeal these 3 farm laws.

These laws which were enacted by the Parliament in September of the year 2020, had been strictly opposed by various farmer’s groups. Many farmers groups across the country had been holding widespread protests and movements for more than a year since the laws were passed demanding that they be removed.

On 19th November, in a special address given to the nation, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister had announced that the Centre was planning to take steps in order to repeal the 3 farm laws in the near approaching winter session of the Parliament.

The protesters had also organized a tractor parade in Delhi on Republic Day included as part of the protests, which had led to various violent events in Delhi and the Red Fort.
