The petition filed under section 438 of Cr.P.C was allowed under the event of arresting accused in Crime no.10 and the case registered in the New Town Police Station of Bidar. The District Judge and Sessions Judge confirmed the release on bail on executing personal bail bond of Rupees 200000 each consisting of three solvent securities which would like the satisfaction of Investigating Officer or the Officer who had arrested them. The management received the bail in the matter involving organizing a performance in the Annual School Day Programme in Bidar School against the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019. The order for the bail passed by Judge M.P. Mallikarjuna in the bail plea in behalf of three persons who are of the management of the school and it was Advocate B.T Venkatesh appeared in behalf of the accused in this matter.
The bail granted to the headmistress of that school along with Mother of a student, both of them charged under Sedition for the conducting anti-CAA play in the school. Both the women released under the bond of 1 lakh each with two sureties. Sedition charges composed on a complaint filed by a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The anti-CAA play staged by students of classes 4, 5 and 6 ostensibly included remarks that humiliated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as mentioned in the complaint. On a related note, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the Karnataka High Court to initiate action against the State Police for illegally examining and questioning minor students of Shaheen Education Society in Bidar over the anti-CAA play. Responding to this, the State argued that the students were only counselled and not interrogated.
