The Karnataka Government has come up with the decision of providing 1 percent of vacancies in any services or posts for the transgender community by the state government. This vacancy is in each general category, SC, ST, and OBC category.
The memo filed before the court where the state government had informed that the Department of Personnel and Administrative reforms have taken steps to amend Karnataka civil services Rules, 1977.
There had been a few proposals made to amend few rules.
The memo was filed by the government during the hearing of the petition that was filed by Sangama. This is a society working for the upliftment of sexual minorities, sex workers, and people living with HIV.
