Notice issued on Law Students' Plea For Regulation Of Higher Education Fee Structure Amid Covid-19 by Rajasthan HC

Two Law Students of the Manipal University filed an application demanding reduction in fees amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Concerning the same petition, the Rajasthan high court has issued notices on the petition and stay application.

Under the petition, the law student also sought direction from the UGC, the Bar Council of India, and the Rajasthan Government to frame the guideline to be adhered to by the institution concerning the regulation of Higher-Education Fee Structure and its collection by the colleges during the time of the pandemic.

The application is based on the rationale that universities around the state are offering online courses which cost less than the on-campus fee. They also pleaded that because of the present situation the mode of education provided by the college is online. Hence for this reason usual fee if taken would be undue.

It was pleaded before a single judge of Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma.
