Supreme Court rejects YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s complaint against Justice NV Ramana

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, faced dismissal by the Supreme Court over a complaint filed against Justice NV Ramana, a sitting Supreme Court Judge alleged to be connected with the Amaravati Land Scam.

As the Supreme Court stated, the complaint against Justice NV Ramana was dismissed only after an in-house procedure conducted by the court to scrutinize the allegations levelled against Justice NV Ramana. Further, the court added that the in-house process for such matters is classified in nature and therefore restricted for public access.

On 6th October, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote to the CJI Bobde indicating the allegations framed against the sitting Supreme Court Judge, Justice Ramana. Also, these assertions drawn by Jagan Reddy were pinned down in an affidavit before the top court.

Lastly, Justice Ramana was nominated as the successor post the retirement of the CJI Bobde on Tuesday. Moreover, the CJI rejected the complaint filed by the Chief Minister against the sitting judge.
