Chief Justice NV Ramana will continue to hear petitions seeking a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Pegasus snoop gate scandal.
In a batch of petitions demanding an investigation into the Pegasus snooping affair, a Supreme Court panel issued notice before admission to the Central Government on August 17.
The central court filed an affidavit, which was presented to the Supreme Court, stating that it has been decided to form an Expert Committee to investigate all of the concerns raised by the alleged Pegasus snooping incident.
The Supreme Court on 17th August deferred the hearing to see if the Union Government wished to file a new affidavit in the case. This came after the petitioners pointed out that the Centre’s “limited affidavit” omitted the question of whether the government or its agencies had ever used Pegasus.
The hearing was postponed until September 13 when the Central Government requested more time.
