Plea Has Been Filed To Convert Religious Places That Enjoy Tax Exemption To Covid Centres

President of taxpayer association of Bharat has approached the Hon’ble apex court requesting the Hon’ble court to convert religious and charitable places that own the property and enjoy tax exemption under section 12 A and 80 G of Income Tax Act, 1961 to covid centres.

The petitioner also requested the Hon’ble court to prevent any further transaction with immediate effect. It has also been requested by the petitioner to raise funds from them and utilized them for covid-19 affected patients.

The plea filed also sought to waive GST on the use of essential drugs during this pandemic and inviting the other companies to manufacture and distributing these drugs for saving the lives of the covid-19 affected  patients

Concerning this, a Hon’ble three-judge Bench of the Hon’ble Supreme Court led by Justice Chandrachud is scheduled to hear the plea. 

Further, this plea was filed by advocate Piyush Hans who has also asked for developing, maintaining and circulating a district-wise dashboard for Patients displaying their needs of Oxygen, Medicine, and Hospitalization.
