Andhra Pradesh HC: No need for an immediate hearing on appeal petition by GITAM Group

Secretary of GITAM Group of Institutions, Mr. BV Mohan Rao filed an appeal petition challenging the directions given by the single judge of HC. The appeal petition was regarding the demolition of certain structures standing on the premises of the university by the District Administration of Vishakhapatnam.

The division bench of Hon’ble Justices M Satyanarayana Murthy and Justice K Lalitha stated there was no need for immediate hearing of the appeal petition. Further, they also questioned the urge for immediate hearing of the matter.

A house motion petition was filed by Mr. BV Mohan Rao, in his petition, Mohan Rao had sought the status quo of the before the demolition of the structures took place on the university premises.

The bench then directed the registrar that the appeal petition should be referred to the regular division bench. Additional Advocate General P Sudhakar Reddy also informed that there was no need to hear the matter immediately.
