Sushant Singh Rajput case: No complaint against Meetu Singh, Priyanka Singh to be probed says Bombay HC

A Bench of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik, in the Bombay High Court, has quashed the complaint registered by the Mumbai Police against Meetu Singh, but the complaint against the other sister, Priyanka Singh, will continue to be investigated. The FIR was filed by actress Rhea Chakraborty, who alleged that the sisters conspired with Dr. Tarun Kumar to give banned medicines to the late Sushant Singh Rajput with a false prescription. The sisters denied the claims and stated that the actress was trying to cause distress in the investigation.

In court Senior Advocate Vikas Singh, who represents the Rajput sisters stated that the prescription by Dr. Kumar was covered under the Telemedicine Guidelines and Telepsychiatry Operational Guidelines, so there is no proof of forgery. Mr. Singh also argued that there was a 91-day delay in filing the FIR by the actress. Advocate Satish Maneshinde, who represents Ms. Chakraborty, argued that after Rajput’s prescription was leaked online, later on, Ms. Chakraborty claimed that the prescribed medicines could have been a cause for Sushant’s death. Since Ms. Chakraborty’s FIR brought forth a different chain of events than what was being claimed, the court decided to continue with the FIR against Priyanka Singh.
