The All India Trinamool Congress has written a letter to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting the removal of Tushar Mehta from the post of Solicitor General under the accusation that he has been holding repeated meetings with Suvendu Adhikari who is a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and a prime accused in the cases of Narada controversy and the infamous Sharada chit fund scam. Mehta has however submitted that the BJP leader did come to his residence cum office unannounced but he did not meet him.
Mehta has stated that the leader did come to meet him at around 03:00 PM, IST in the afternoon but he was already busy in a pre-scheduled meeting and therefore failed to meet him immediately. He had requested him to wait in the waiting section of his office via his staff and they had offered him a cup of tea. After the meeting got over, Mehta conveyed to Adhikari that he was unable to meet him and apologized for the fact that he had to wait for so long.

He must advise the state as well as the central government in various important issues, legal concerns as well as the functioning of all the organs of the government.
