Existence of Prima facie evidence of Illicit trafficking: Court while Denying bail to Armaan Kohli

A special NDPS court, in a detailed order, rejected actor Armaan Kohli’s bail stating that he is prima facie well connected to the co-accused in connection with the illicit trafficking drug.

“The public prosecutor presented the prima facie material in connection with the illicit trafficking of the agreement,” said the special judge.

The court further stated that, although the investigation was in the early stages, the conversations submitted by the prosecution, if confirmed with the banking transactions, would roughly match the transaction figures. The court further held, it appears that the provisions of NDPS are invoked “as a result of ” Kohli’s involvement in financing illegal trade and harbouring offenders. While the court denied the bail on October 14, a detailed copy of the decision was made available on Thursday.

Kohli was arrested in August. The court said the accused failed to explain the purpose of owning the contraband (1.2 grams MD) recovered from his home and the financial transactions.
