The Jammu and Kashmir Police had registered an initial intelligence report (FIR) against Randhawa under Sections 295A (Violation of religious sentiment) and 505 (Increased class enmity) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). )for allegedly disparaging comments against Muslims.
